Planning for Incapacity Seminar
Aging is a journey that recasts our mental and physical powers, leaving many of us in need of support. The challenges and timelines are different for everyone, but we often hear the commonly voiced concern, “how will I be cared for, if I cannot care for myself?” Likewise, adult children have concerns about when and how they should step in to help aging parents.
In this seminar, estate attorney Alice Dueker will discuss how to plan for incapacity by empowering others to advocate for you as your powers fade. The discussion, moderated by Kate King, will include an overview of the important legal documents that help structure your support system as you age. Going beyond the technical aspects, the seminar will also explore how to best maintain personal, emotional, and financial well-being as you need increasing care and support. Communication and decision-making about capacity and memory issues can be unfamiliar and difficult, and we’ll discuss tips to get started.
Join us for this important discussion. It will be valuable for individuals or couples thinking about their situation or family members and loved ones helping someone else with the process. There will be plenty of time dedicated to questions.
