We’re excited to welcome artist Adam Wolpert to the North Berkeley Wealth virtual art gallery. A life-long love of Adam’s, oak trees are a quintessential part of California’s landscape. Sadly, they are endangered by disease and a rapidly changing environment. His Great Oak Series is a bearing of witness to the disappearance of these beloved beings. In spending time with Adam’s work, you’ll discover a deep connection to nature and an understanding of relationships that comes only when you slow down to take a deeper look at the world.

About Adam Wolpert
A Lifelong Engagement with Nature
Employing a range of techniques and motifs, the work of painter Adam Wolpert reflects a lifelong engagement with Nature. His varied imagery explores the themes of cycles, relationships, and balance, and investigates the subtle distinction between the representational and the abstract. His earlier naturalistic outdoor work speaks of his relationship with the land, in particular his home in West Sonoma County at the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center (OAEC). Over the last 5 years, Wolpert has completed his 70 painting “pond series” which involved a year of observing and painting one tree and produced 18 large paintings in his “Great Oak” series which is ongoing.
A passionate artist from an early age, Wolpert explored the media of performance, ceramics, sculpture, and collage before turning seriously to painting while earning his BFA from the University of California Santa Barbara. After a rigorous 2-year training in classical realism at Studio Cecil-Graves in Florence, Italy, where he immersed himself in the work of the great European masters, Wolpert completed an MFA at UC San Diego. He has had major gallery representation since 1988, including many solo exhibitions and group shows. His work has been widely collected by both private and institutional collectors and is featured in the permanent collection of the Museum of Sonoma County His new series was most recently featured in a solo exhibition at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art. Wolpert co-founded the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center in 1994 and has taught and lectured extensively throughout California.
